Valentino Rockstuds: Style Icon Gwen Stefani

Valentino

Let me start by saying I love anything that reminds me of Gwen Stefani. I first saw her in 1995 in Triangle Square in Costa Mesa, when she was just a young rocker, with that amazing sound that no one had ever heard before. We went over to the show after school one day, and I will seriously never forget that day. There was no more than 400 people there. It’s one of those moments that you know is special, but you don’t really know why it’s so special. I think part of the allure of Gwen, besides her amazing throaty voice, is her style.

She single handed made baggy pants and crop tops cool. She wore the 90’s grunge in such a girl power way. This adorable outfit gives you my 90’s LA Chic, but will keep you warm in the snow.

Free People Alpine Cuff Knit Henley: Perfect for Winter in Utah

free-people

This Free People top is my favorite Utah winter staple! The funny thing is, I would have never worn Free People in Orange County. Not dressy enough. But here in Utah, combined with jeans a boots, so cute. You could even wear it under your ski gear, so when you strip down in the lodge you look as sexy as you should.

Find it at Nordstroms in lots of yummy colors like my personal favorite, black.

Tory Burch Printed Ronda Puffer

Utah is cold. Not as cold as Minnesota cold, but compared to Newport Beach 70 degrees year round, it’s cold. The ONLY thing that has gotten me through the last 8 winters of sub-zero temps, is a puffy coat. I put one on in September, and don’t take it off until May.

This Printed Puffer from Tory Burch is to.die.for. Not only does it look warm, but it looks cute. Paired with denim and boots, or even over a suit for work, you can look clean and polished.

Puffers are getting so much cuter, and the truly are the most comfortable coat out there. You no longer have to look like the stay puff marshmallow man.

Marathon Must Haves

Why, oh why do we marathon? My last marathon, I thought that training by means of doing CrossFit was suffice. It wasn’t. Even though I took 20 minutes off of my time, I have never hurt so much in my entire life. I really thought I was going to have to go to the hospital. And the soccer game that I had to sit through 20 minutes later was pure torture.

For your next marathon, make it fun, by looking good. At least then the hurt might not hurt quite so bad.
